Production on the Rise in Qiqihar Oilfield

In early December, as a follow-up to our recent meeting in Beijing with Great Wall Drilling Co., General Manager Sun visited the Liaohe Oilfield in Liaoning Province.
Liaohe Oilfield is one of the largest oilfield in China and also has the highest output of heavy oil and hence the most expertise. The objective of their trip was to investigate the most up-to-date techniques in heavy oil production and to gain insights for our development of our Fu718 block which is slated for this year.
They met with the Liaohe Exploration and Development Research Institute, Heavy Oil Development Research Institute, and Drilling Technology Research Institute to discuss the current situation at Qiqihar and have received many meaningful suggestions to enhance our production efforts. Considerable time was spent studying the pros and cons of horizontal well drilling technology which has been particularly successful in implementing horizontal drilling in their program. Several proposals were being studied for our Fu 718 block which may include a combination of vertical wells for steam injection and horizontal wells for oil production.
While there, they also visited other technical experts, and suppliers of down-hole operations and work-over equipments, some of which have already had a long-term working relationship with our oilfield.
All in all, this proved to be a very fruitful trip for our team.
