Seismic Operations in Ksar Hadada

In early December 2009, CGGVeritas was contracted to acquire 100 km of 2D seismic lines in the Ksar Hadada permit. The PetroAsian team flew from Hong Kong to Tunisia to supervise the seismic operations, and everything went as planned. We stayed for a total of 5 days in the desert, overseeing the acquisition, quality control and initial interpretation of the results. The purpose of the acquisition was to further refine the Sidi Toui and Oryx prospects and determine the optimal location point for drilling. Final Interpretation of these seismic acquisitions were received in January 2010.
Amidst the desolate Saharan desert, the CGGVeritas base camp is quite extensive, as it can house over 300 employees at anytime. We also managed to make a quick visit to the Storm Ventures oil discovery, which is 20 km south of our permit area.
